NYSSMA Preparation
(New York State School Music Association)

The Studio helps to prepare students whose schools participate in NYSSMA for their exams (Level 1-6). Our student participants generally have a very high success rate and receive excellent feedback from the NYSSMA judges. This makes for an excellent addition to a future resumé.

Parent & Me - (Program no longer offered!)

The Parent & Me music program is a piano based program geared toward the very young beginner (approximately 2 to 4 years old). The program introduces basic music principles to the young student, parent in tow, in a fun and exciting way through the use of sounds, movement, games, puzzles, songs, dance, listening skills and dexterity exercises. It also introduces basic piano instructions which familiarizes the young student to the piano as a first instrument.

This class is the precursor to our popular, more independent TOTS program, (ages 4-6 years old), where students are encouraged to be independent and attend class without their parents.

TOTS Program- (All Piano Lessons are online)

Our very popular and effective TOTS Program teaches piano lessons in a unique way. It is geared towards the young beginner, ages 4-6(1/2) yeard old. The approach is in a fun, relaxed environment that teaches classical piano playing and theory development through the use of dexterity exercises, listening skills, puzzles, songs, movement, and social skills.

Having a piano, keyboard, or other means to practice is essential for this class. Students get homework, theory, and other piano-playing assignments which they are expected to complete.

Most students begin at a Level one (1) piano skill level in this class, but some can and have progressed to a Level two (2) piano skill level and beyond.

Summer Day Programs- (No longer offered!)

The Studio offers music-based and other summer programs. Space is generally limited, so early registration is essential to reserve a space in these programs. Inquire at the front desk for details regarding these and other offerings.
